Dihonest About Terms of Settlement

I had a collection account that had been placed with Alliance One. I called them and agreed to a settlement. About three quarters of the balance owed.in exchange they promised to remove the account and refernces to it from my credit report. They also assured me that I would receive a confimation of this 24 hours after payment was received.

I believed them and immediatley paid the amount agreed upon. Time goes by... And no confirmation, no removal from my credit report.

I call them daily requesting this to be done. Each person I speak to tells me something different... Call back tomorrow after 2pm, We don't make such assurances for payment, I'm sorry we cannot provide you with that information. I have asked to speak to a manager nearly every phone call. I get someone different each time. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone to give you her/his name when you speak to them.

Be careful in your dealings with them. Their assurances are all words with no follow through on their part.
