Thomas Mitchell from Equitrust financial services called me on Monday Jan. 21st. Thomas left a message on my phone saying that I was approved on a personal loan of $10,000.00. Thomas Mitchell stated that all I needed was a good faith deposit of $1,823.34 and that 24 hours after the monies are received the loan amount of $10,000.00 would be put into my account. The initial $1823.32 would defer payments for 6 month, Aug. 1 2008.
The money was transferred on Tues. Jan 22 via moneygram. On Wed. Jan. 23, a Steven Kent Senior loan consultant, called me stating that the lender had made an error. The error was that the good faith deposit was wrong, that they required another $1,823.34 in order for the loan to go through and that the payments would now be differed to Jan. 1st 2009.
So once again $1,823.34 was transferred via moneygram. On Thurs. Jan. 24 Steven Kent called again stating that their lender breached the contract that we had signed. Steven told me they were no longer going to give us the loan. Steven also stated that if we want to go through with the loan that they have another lender that approved our loan. The terms were different again.
This time it could only be a $20,000.00 with an additional fee of $3,646.68 but that because of the problems with the first lender that they would cover half. We would only have to send $1,820.00. I sent the $1,820.00 on Fri. Jan. 25. Steven stated that the funds would be in our account on Mon. Jan. 28th. Today I looked in my account and saw there still was no money. I called Mr. Kent and left a message. Mr. Kent did not answer. I called him a second time and had got a hold of him.
He now claims that the lender would not accept money from him it had to be me. Mr. Kent stated that I need to send the remainder balance. I asked Mr. Kent if this was a scam and he claimed it was not. I told him if this is not a scam then I want my money back that I was not going through with this loan. Mr. Kent told me I could not have the money that he does not have it and I would have to wait till Feb. 19th. I don't believe this money will be sent. I have all faxes of contracts, receipts of transfer, and letters from them stating our agreements.
