Breifly: This company bought a 5 year old phone list of uncollected credit card bills and started making robo calls. The problem is, anybody with half a brain would realize that the first thing a person does when ducking out on bill collectors is to change their frickin phone number and the numbers on those lists get recycled.
Now you would think that these guys at CBCS would be interested enough in eliminating bad numbers from their base that they would at least keep their robo caller working. But nooooooo. And do they leave a call back number to straighten out their mistake? NOOOOOOOO.
I am the guy who got the recycled phone number. And these pin heads at CBCS robo called twice a day for two weeks. Finally I called the phone company and they said there was nothing I could do except *57 them three times and then call the State Attorney general. And oh by the way each *57 cost me bucks.
Isn't it wonderful what you can get written into law in this country if you have enough money to lobby congress. Let see:
Eliminate bankruptsy option for consumers.
Protect the rights of sleeze ball collection companies like CBCS to make harassing phone calls from outdated phone lists.
Protect the rights of these scum buckets to make mistakes.
Charge the customer for the ability to straighten the mess out.

Sounds like a win win for the collections agencys and the phone companys but not so good for customer. Only in America where you get the best laws money can buy.
When I finally got a hold of a number to call CBCS at, they hung up on me five times before I finally got through to a Supervisor to relay the problem and my complaint to them.in fact just asking for a supervisor triggers the goons on the phone bank to either hang up immediately or transfer you over to an endless "hold" that hey have set up on their internal switchboard. When I told them that I was out of pocket money just to let them know they were five years too late to collect anything; the supervisor was not appologetic in the least and told me flatly that they were not going to reimburse me for my expenses even though they had made the mistakes.
Well guess what bright and early Monday I am calling on the State Attorney Generals office. I am not naive enought to think that one complain will do much good but if enough complaints show up who knows?
