Hmmm!!! Boy do I have egg all over my face. I was warned by friends and ripoff report not to bank with NCB. I thought to myself NCB isn't as bad as they say. Wrong!!! They are as bad and worse then I could believe.
Many OVER DRAFT dollars later I am like a Christmas turkey so done with NCB. I am closing my accounts and finding me a credit union to join. I hope that we can get millions of people to boycott NCB and other banks with terrible banking practices that don't care about their customers. I guess with banks the customer is not right at all Hmmmm!!!
Well, here is my story. I had a ACh 372.42 and a Point of sale purchase of 7.61 come in on Friday 12/28/07. I deposited 319.04 into my account along with the 32.. 45 I all ready had in my account.
Like everyone else does I checked my online banking account and the balance read I had a postive balance of 351.49 available. I'm thinking Whoosh!!! Everthing is covered. I called the balance inquiry on saturday night and the computer told me I had 2 overdraft charges.
I called the 800# online banking number on Monday to ask why I was charged 2 OD fees when I deposited the money the same day. She tells me that only 100$ of that money was available to me. Then she tells me that the branches may of a cutoff time as to when the money will post.
Inquirying minds want to know I called my branch to find out if they had a cutoff time that my deposited money will post. He never told me there was a cutoff time He says let's take a look at your account.
The manager told me that my ACH and POINT OF SALE PURCHASE had come in first that day, since I deposited the money later that day that is what caused the 2 Od's. He says that my money wasn't available until today 12/31/07.
The real kicker is I have my son's SSI check directly deposited into my account and they took 70$ of that money (which wasn't available until today 12/31/07) on (Saturday) a day that isn't considered a banking business day to pay my OD fees.
Well, Like I said at the beginning, I am so done with National City Bank I am closing out my account ASAP. I am writing this report so that anyone thinking of banking with NCB. PLEASE!!! Take everyone's (who has done a report here) word. You don't want to bank with NATIONAL CITY BANK. They will * with a really big boot.
