About 2 weeks after searching the web for a pre-approved, low-interest credit card, I received a letter in the mail from Peoples Credit First. The letter stated that I was pre-approved for a $5,000.00 platinum credit card with 0% APR for the first year.
After reading the letter a few things stood out to me 1) there was no bank name 2) there were no contact phone numbers and 3) the biggest thing that jumped out at me was the $45 one time membership fee. Usually once you order a card, that membership fee or activation fee is charged on the account and shown on your first statement, but these guys wanted me to mail in my check prior to getting the credit card.
This was a red flag to me and it convinced myself to do a goole search and find out more & and I most certainly did. Thanks to rip off report I didn't loose any money and I found out the truth.
But now my question is my is no body doing anything about this? Why can't the police find out who owns the PO box in Florida? Why can't they traced the bank that all these peoples checks were getting deposited into and find out who has the account?
