Today would have been D-Day for me!
I collected the $1500 collateral to secure my $15,000 loan that Eric Gibson from Atlantic Lending American Corp had gotten from me from a 3rd party lending in TX. I called this afternoon to ask how to set up the transfer of the collateral and the deposit of the loan. When calling the toll free number that they provided me I received a message from the phone company that the work number is on hold and to try again later. This raised a red flag!
I then went online and just by typing in the company name the only websites that appeared were documenting fraud cases. - My heart just sank. I thought for sure this was going to be my break. I will finally get a fresh start to being out of debt and I had to beg w / family and friends just to loan me the $1500 for collateral. I know that I have been saved, but I am still in debt with collectors calling and sending letters. Plus, now my family will know how vulnerable I am that I trusted an online lending company and it will just add to the shame I have of being irresponsible with money, even if its' not mine.
Advise for all: Go through local banks - skip the websites. You may get rejected by dozens of banks in town but at least they wont' get your hopes up and scam you!
