I have had this company as a second mortgage provider for 10 years and am about to be making my final mortgage payment. A recent check of my credit report revealed a July payment as being "late". After numerous telephone calls to Evon, Josie, Michelle, messages to Jen, customer relations department and others Homeq has refused to send me verifications of this alleged late payment. A subsequent check of my reports revealed that HomEq is showing more late payments and follow up complaints to the 3 credit bureaus result in, "the account has been verified by the reporting agenct." This company has no customer service or "relation" procedure in place to handle my situation. This is obvious. After 6 telephone conversations that totaled 4 hours in "hold time", I filed a complaint with the FTC. Will follow up then if no satisfactory response-hire an attorney and sue in my local court for violations of the fair debt credit reporting act; eg 1) notice not sent of so called late, 2) subsequent late reporting not substantiated. 3) failure to provide loan documentation upon request, 4) unfair and deceptive trade practices. 5) other issues. Am also contacting the Better Business Bureau.
