Green Tree Services, Conseco Finance Servicing Corp Broke into our home and put up For Sale sign after being told the home was sold... Only 3 days behind!

On July 11 Angie (owner of home) called Green Tree's 800 number to get a pay-off amount and to let them know that she had sold her home to her boss. She asked where should she have him send the pay-off check to.

After she had gotten this information I noticed that the pay-off was much larger than the principle amount on her latest bill. She directed the woman to speak with me. When I asked the lady to break it down for me this is what I got: $381.80 (said was owed on homeowners insurance)
$541.91 (said was owed on interest)
$9,659.33 (owed on principle)
She stated that the full amount of $10,583.04 was only good until July 23.

This information was written down on my computer incase of any problems.

On July 16 Angie went to her doublewide to find that Green Tree had broken into her home, replaced the front door lock, hung a For Sale sign in the window. There was a No Tresspassing/Private Property sign in the front window that we had put there a few weeks before we moved out of the home. Angie had her husband to enter the home through an open window in the back of the trailer since the deadbolt was locked on the only other door and she had no key to it. Once inside Angie removed the For Sale sign and returned home to contact this so-called company.

Angie called the number on the For Sale sign and asked to speak with Greg Holden) name listed on the sign. He knew nothing about the sign or about her property. He stated that he does not become involved until the property is in repo. Mr. Holden directed her to call the Regional office and gave her the number.

Angie called the number and spoke to a lady. This woman began to inform Angie that her trailer was in repo. When Angie asked how that could be considering that she was only 6 days late with a payment and that the trailer was sold - the lady began to tell her that the land owner (Angie's parents) had called and reported the trailer abondoned and that they wanted it off their land on June 20.

The woman also stated that they received another call from the land owner on June 25 stating that the trailer was being broken into and that it was being stripped down. Angie was very upset at this point. The lady even stated that the land owner said that they were being threatened by us (she and I shared this home with my 2 young daughters). Angie wanted to know how we were threatening them and the woman said that it was reported that we used butcher knives. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

The lady sent Angie to yet another woman to speak with. This time Angie got the lady's name: Mrs. Pugh. Mrs. Pugh told Angie that they did not have to inform her of the repo. She said that they (Green Tree) had the right to protect their investment. It seems that the locks were changed on July 13th according to Mrs. Pugh. Angie wanted to kow how to get a key and the woman stated that the guy said that he left the key ontop of her front door light.

That would have been nice to know before her husband had to crawl through a window. This also made her trailer wide open for someone to come in and do damage. If they were out to protect their investment - this was a funny way to do it. Leaving someone easier access to the property.

Angie told the woman that she had just spoke with their company on July 11th to get pay-off information and that nothing was said to her about any of this. The lady just kept saying that the trailer was in repo and that they did not have to notify her of anything. Angie asked her what she could so since the trailer was being paid-off and sold. The lady gave Angie until July 20th to have the buyer get the check to them and it get credited to her account. After that date it would go back into repo if the money was not received.

Angie has had many phone calls to this Mrs. Pugh. Mrs. Pugh still cannot give her a straight answer as to how the trailer got into repo to begin with.

During one phone call I spoke up concerning Mrs. Pugh stating that they had sent out a certified letter on July 11th about the repo. I told her that it was now the 17th and we still had not gotten the letter. She promptly got all nervous and became rude. She said that she was not made aware of anyone else being on the line and that she didn't know who I was. So I told her that I was Angie's cousin and that I lived with her and helped her make the payments on the trailer. She got even mre rude and stated that she didn't know who we though we were going to blame but from here on out we could contact her manager at extention... And when I began to speak she hung up on us.

We have tried to find a lawyer to help us sue Green Tree. I'm not a layer but to me that should be charged with breaking and entering, theift (out door lock) and for all the stress that they put on Angie.

We are like everyone else on this site: Green Tree is a rip-off and we all should come together and let this company feel a little of the pain that they have put us through.

My best advice is, "He who has notes - WINS" I have kept notes on all contacts with Green Tree. Write down the time, date, who you spoke with, and a discription of what was said.

If anyone knows of a good lawyer that would want to face-off with this crazy company... PLEASE LET US KNOW! We are willing to fight it all the way.
