I bought a $70,000 manufactored home in march and my payments have been on time most of the time, but when i was going through cancer treatment they were late about 5 times, and i was supposed to pay a $5.00 late payment fee, but they would start calling 1 or 2 days after the loan payment was due and say that if i did not go to a company that does same day payments that they would repossess my home.
I contacted a attorney and he said that they have to give you a notice of intent to cure, and being less than 2 weeks late does not constitute foreclosure. I bought this home new, and last month i had to buy a new central air conditioner, after the one that came with the home burnt up 5 months after my warranty expitered, i also had to replace the microwave that caught fire, and i later found out that the built in microwave they put in these homes are the worst on the market.
I had to replace the water heater. All of the water faucets in this home have had to be replaced. The water lines were not proerly installed, and i had to hire a plumber because the water line came loose.
Vanderbilt is rude and they will lie and try to scare people into thinking they will soon be loosing theirb home. I have excellent credit so i am having my bank buy out the remainder of my mortage. I will never do business with vanderbilt again, and i advise anyone else buying a home to also steer clear of them. Use your own bank if your credit allows.
Thanks
