This company sent me a check for $2,780.00 telling me I had won a North American Utilities drawing held April 12 and the check was enclosed to cover charges/fees required to be paid prior to receiving my winnings. That my ticket number was one of the winning tickets and I was being awarded a lump sum pay out of $46,500.00. It instructed me to "keep winning confidential until my prize money was received to avoid multiple claims." That's very clever of these guys so you won't tell anyone and they can rip you off. I was to call a payment coordinator Mrs. Sarah Bissar or Mr David Owens at 1-306-880-4637 as soon as I received this notice to assist me in finalizing the payment process. Awards are redeemable no later than July 6th. Congratulations! Signed James Mack, Prize Coordinator.
At first I was so excited I couldn't breathe good... But then reality started to set in. First off, if I really won a lump sum payout, why would I be required to pay charges/fees prior to receiving my winnings? Second, Why would I need to call a payment coordinator to assist me in finalizing the payment process. They found me to send me a check for $2,780.00... So surely they could send the $46,500.00 to the same XO!? %#X place.
Anyway, I called the number in the letter a couple times and got the company's answering machine with no response. Then I went online and did a search on google for this company. Low and behold this "complaint" popped up and here I am. Thanks guys for keeping me from being ripped off!
