I have also received the First Mutual Clearing House letter of reward for $70,000. I also received a check from Adlin Construction for the $2975 amount to be cashed by me to pay the $2850 admin fee. First off the check looks extremely legitimate. The letter from Lake Charles, Louisiana incorrectly gave the account number. The number they gave is actually the routing number (122000247) for a Wells Fargo branch that just so happens to is my branch in Santa Monica, CA. I am taking this Adlin Construction check there tomorrow. Wells Fargo has an extremely vigilant fraud department and I think they would be curious to know about this. The other number that the Lake Charles victim gave was the check number. My check number is 063356. Also there is a bank account number of 112263226 which is only 9 digits. Wells Fargo bank accounts have 10 digits.
Also Adlin Construction does exist. That's who the check is from. They are in Mission Viejo which is in Orange County, CA. I called their number tonight and they are a legitmate business. Their phone number is 949.951.9115. They are listed all over google as a real business. They have a business license in the city of Anaheim for sure as well. I will call them Monday A.M. To let them know about this if they don't already know.
First Mutual in Newark, Deleware doesn't exist. There is a First Mutual Corporation in a few cities in New Jersey (maybe that's where they took the Newark part from) and in Wilmington, Delaware. There is no phone number associated with First Mutual Clearing House that I can find online. The 604.825.2660 phone number for Jennifer Edwards, the person you are supposed to call and give your ID#, is registered on White Pages and Yellow Pages.com to a Langley, British Columbia user, so maybe the Canadian authorities would like to know about this bunch of people too.
I didn't pay the $15 it would take to find the address connected to that phone number from Reverse Number on White Pages.com. I figure I hadn't lost any money yet, why start now!
I will let everyone know what Wells Fargo says.
