Being an individual with less than outstanding credit can really make a person look to creeps like this for some sort of solution.
I paid the $199.95 as agreed to, then I waited for my card to arrive in the mail. What I got was a FedEx package containing a plastic card with a painted on 'magnetic strip'. The card was a merchandise card. Along with this card came a catalog. Apparently, my credit line only applied to items in this catalog.
I went to their website, which did come with my 'benefits package' (www.acsplatinumcard.com) and they do have a website, but all that's there is a username and password log in page. I never recieved a username and password.
When I tried calling them to ask what the deal was, I was brushed from operator to 'supervisor' to 'manager'. Right on one of the sheets I recieved with my 'benefits package' it states:
'If after recieving your benefits package, it does not clearly state everything talked about on the initial card, you are entitled to a complete refund within 30 days'.
Well, I did not get everything that was coverd and I am now playing phone tag with them. When I asked for my money back, they wanted to review the tape of my conversation I had with one of their operators.
Basically they took my money and they are simply waiting for me to get tired of calling them. I recieved my mailer a week ago and I am trying for a result before the 30 day refund period is over. I have filed a complaint with my state's Attorney General.
Now, I have to change my bank account. I ahve to get new checks, new check cards, rewrite checks for rent and bills, and MAYBE they'll get back to me on this.
I have not used the card, so I don't even know if it works. But given the American Credit Solutions track record I have seen in just tow months, I doubt if there's even merchandise availible.
