CBCS Discriminates against Disabled Veteran and reapetedly lies

On February 8, I contacted CBCS after finding out that one of my phone bills from more than five years ago was being listed as unpaid. The sum was a paltry $ 166.41. I paid it immediately. I probably should have disputed the debt, but didn't.

I asked for a letter confirming that I now had a zero ballance with CBCS or a receipt for payment. I was told that CBCS would mail me a statement of zero ballance the next business day. They did not. They lied to me.

A week later I called and asked to speak to a supervisor. I asked Brittany, Jane, and Rayanna (on three seperate phone calls) To verify that the letter or statement had been mailed. All of the above "supervisors" would not verify that the letter had indeed been sent but that one would go out the following business day.

I indicated that this was a time sensative matter, and askd if they could instead fax me the information. I had already heard the next business day story once, and was skeptical.

Here is what happened next...
I was refused, and told that it was against their company policy. I explained that company policy is not law and asked to speak to their supervisor or someone who could make that decision. I was denied and hung up on.

I called Back. I restated my request and explained that I was attempting to close on a house. I was again denied acess to a higher authority. Was given a lecture on paying my bills on time. My Southern accent was noted and a disparraging remark made. I was hung up on.

I called back. I was then treated to abuse, oppression and harrasment for being a Southerner. I informed CBSC that I was now going to record the phone conversation. When asked once again to connect me with a supervisor of supervisors I was denied and taunted. Brittany specifically stated, "What are you going to do about it?"

Well, Brittany and CBSC here is what I did about it.

You are workong in a Federally controlled and regulated industry. You have been reported to The oversite and investigation of the Federal Trade Commission who has CRIMINAL authority over collecton agencies.

I reported that you are in criminal violation of FTC Act Section 3,15 U.S.C. Sections 43,46, and 49. You are also in violation of Section 7a of the Clayton Act, U.S.C. Section 18a., and further that you were in specific violation of the Fair Dept Collections act which states that you may not lie to a consumer, (thats me) and a seperate violation under the same act that states you may not discriminate, oppress or harrass.

I also reported your company to my states Attorney Generals office who also has criminal oversight. I reported you to the better business beaureau.
And, finnally after learning that your company has had complaints before, I reported you to this sight. Now I have one last thing to do about it.

I am meeting with a lawyer "the next business day" to seek $ 5,000, 000.00 in damages against CBCS, The supervisors listed and pretty much anyone else at CBCS who couldn't be bothered to answer my questions.

That's what I'm going to do about it.
