Scott Lowery Law Offices Or Firm ripoff and scam / broke the law

I need some ones help out there,
i have been involuntarily recalled to active duty and this was in july. I have family taking care of my personal business back home. I checked my e-mail and my mother said that a scott lowery law firm has sent me a letter threatening me with a judgement on an old credit card account, the problem is that the credit card company has writen it off and now this law firm has bought the account, the total ammount is over a thousand dollars.

I was sent the letter while i have been recalled to active duty while fighting the war on terror, i thought that i am covered under the soldiers and sailors act???

I contacted this law firm and spoke to several people, the first person told me that they will try to work with me on making payment arrangements, the second person could not help me without talking to her supervisor and the third person was her supervisor and he told me that they don't make payment arrangements because this is a law firm and they needed atleast $300.00 dollars up front to hold this account until i get back to the states.

I mentioend the soldiers and sailors act and he told me that he needed the money now, he asked me if i can borrow from family, i kept asking about the soldiers and sailors act and he kept getting more disrespectful. I told him since i have no reprensentation with me and i feel very uncomfortable talking to a lawyer without reprensentation and that i should talk to my jag office or legal department, he suddenly cutt me off and told me that we will talk about this in future conversations.

I have gone to my commanding officer and i have a letter that is being typed up and i am going to send it certified mail.in that letter it explains about the soldiers and sailors act, also it is signed by my co, is their any thing else i should do or is this it???
I have read the reports about this law firm on and i needed some kind of advice so can someone help me. Oh yeah i also contacted my lawyer back in the states.

Thankyou for your help,
david
