Wachovia
Ripoff customers, does not follow their own rules

I have been a cutomer of Wachovia for over 4 years. Last year, I made a couple of loans through the internet with payday loan companies. These companies have been paid in full but still a couple of them continued to debit my account. Every time that it would happen, the debits were returned because Id din't have the money in the account and NSF fees were charged. I would call the bank the very next day, explain that those companies were not authorized anymore and they would refund the fees. On 1/18/07, the same situation and when I called their 800# I was told that they couldn't refund the fees any more because they have done it in the past as a courtesy and they couldn't help any more!!!

I went to the bank the next business day (Monday - 1/22/07) and spoke with a manager who in turn told me that I had to fill out a dispute form in order to get me fees refunded. This sounded illogical since when this first started (Nov, 06) I asked to fill out the forms and I was told by another representative that it didn't apply because the debits didn't go through. But this lady manager told me that that was how it was done. So I did fill out the forms, she faxed them to the Dispute Dept. I never got a call back, but when I called on Friday asking about the status of the disputes, I was told that the fees were not going to be reversed any more.

That the forms that I had submited did not apply and that they couldn't help me because I authorized the companies in the past.

I told them that I did what I was told, to fill out the forms and that I would get my fees refunded. Now they say that they do not know why this lady manager told me that, that it was the wrong information.

I told them that according to FDIC Regulation E - I was entitled to have my fees refunded. She told me that she didn't know what I was talking about. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she told me that the supervisor wouldn't be able to help me.

Now, on top of that, I have my balance in the negative (over $1000) because since they didn't refund my fees, the transactions that I made after have been returned. I asked them to close my account, but they can't because it is in the negtaive. I explained about the NSF fees situation and told them that I woudl pay the balance if they opened a new account, but they refused.

My direct deposit is comming in on Monday, and I won't have any money for the next two weeks because the deposit will pay my negative balance.

I filed a complain with FDIC this weekend and it will take a couple of day to hear from them.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
