AFNI - Verizon
AFNI sent me and my husband a letter stating we owe Verizon Communications money, RIPOFF!

On January 3, me and my husband recieved a letter stating we owe Verizon Communications 946.58. Since we never had an account with verizon, we called. They asked us to verifiy some info like our SSN and address. OF course we said no we will give you the account number on the letter.

Then they asked us for a home number in case we get disconnected. Of course we said no if we get diconnected we will call you back. Of course we this was after one hour of tring to get a hold of them and the line was always busy.

The CS rep. Said that is was an account from 1997. And that is was from Bellsouth who was bought out by Verizon. I said "1997". CS rep said it was from Virgina. I told him that we have never lived in VA.

Again he asked for out SSN. Again I said no because then you can just type it in linking us to this. He then said that I needed to pay this. OOOO no I dont. I will send you a letter of Validation of dept.

He then try to threaten me saying that it is going on our credit. I said "Sir it in now on my credit after 10 year I dont think it is going to be there now. You dont have any infomation backing this up that it is mine or my husband. You are fishing for it now. I am not going to fall for it."

He then said that I can send the letter and when they (AFNI) send me validation then I have only 30 days to pay it. I said lets see what you have. This is not mine or my husband so I dont have to worry about any validation.

Did these people really think I was going to give them my SSN and birth date over the phone. I think not. 10 years ago me and my husband were not even married. So lets see what they have.

If any one gets a letter from them do not give them your SSN or birth date. They are fishing for info so they can link it to you. Dont even give them an address or phone number. Just give them the account number on the letter (if you call them) And of course *67 the phone before you call so they can not trace it back to you.

O yeah they also had a address on file of Florida. They asked me for my address and I said you have it, it is the address on this letter, they came back with a florida address when I live in Alabama. Scam
