Countrywide Bank/Full Spectrum Lending is a predator of the worst kind. I have been with them for almost five years. I swore I would not do another loan with them because the loan officers won't leave you alone and push on you until you give in they want the commission so bad.
After my first loan with them I had numerous problems and swore that was it. Then Jill Sutter (loan officer) began hounding me night and day along with about a dozen other loan officers. My phone rang day and night. I finally did three mortgages with her just to get rid of her. She was sooo "helpful" until she got me to sign on the dotted line and then the next day she literally disappeared... Wouldn't return phone calls... Basically didn't give a damn at that point.
The day after my loans closed another loan officer by the name of Maggie Freemole began calling and hounding me day and night. I asked her to stop calling and finally had to threaten to report her if she didn't stop calling me. She stopped for about three months, then began calling again hounding me to get a heloc. I told her I didn't want a heloc but she persistently called me anyway. She tried to convince me by saying it wouldn't cost me anything as long as I kept a balance for 3 months and kept the line for 6 months.
I told her she had better be telling me the truth because I didn't have time (being busy with 3 businesses) to read through a thick stack of papers (my fault), but she guaranteed me she was telling me the truth and that I needed to go ahead and take out the line. The closing person had to come to my house twice because of inconsistencies in the contract and what Maggie had told me. The second time we closed and from that moment on I could never reach Maggie again.
Then a couple of months later she did a credit pull on me without my permission which resulted in my score dropping 5 points. I called her and her supervisor to complain but of course no one returned my call. Then 6 months after taking out the heloc I noticed a charge of $669 on my statement. After inquiring about the charge I was told I was being charged for closing costs... That I had to keep a balance on it for six months!!! Maggie Freemole lied to me to make a commission. I have called CW now about 5 times asking for a supervisor yet no one will return my calls.
This bank is a predator of the worst kind and even though they are large people should go anywhere but Countrywide. After I was scammed I began hearing lots of horror stories from other customers. This is the second time I've been preyed on by large lending institutions and I am sick of it. Making a complaint to the Banking and Finance does not do anything. The only way they will take notice is by people not doing business with them.
Don't make the same mistake I did. My gut told me not to deal with them, I did anyway, and now I'm paying a huge price. I will take all my business away from them and will never recommend them to anyone.
