We applied for a loan online. A couple days later, we had a check cashed on our account, check number 9999 for $49.95. We did not give our information to these people. We went to our bank, Bank of America, and they refused to help us. They basically said it is legal for these rip off artists to do this to people because we gave our bank information to a loan company. They said they sold our info to Secret Cash Card.
We did find out it is another rip off artist in Cali how is selling peoples info. It is Malibu Financial! The bank did tell us that much. They are pretty useless about anything else. They won't even flag these people from doing it again! We tried to contact Malibu Finacial and they have no email, phone or address on their site. What a wonderful company huh? We also tried Secret Cash card and their number was disconnected.
Well, we read the Nevada state laws here and it is illegal for a company to sell your information! But yet, they still do it. So, be careful all and watch out for Malibu Financial. Also, if anyone has any suggestions, let the rest of us poor suckers know.
