Complaint / Review
Anderson Crenshaw & Associates - CBE, Credit Bureau Enterprises, The CBE Groupe - Direct Secur
Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates, CBE, Credit Bureau Enterprises, The CBE Groupe Direct Secur This company has tried to collect a debt that has already been paid, refused to send "signed contract"

Here's how the story goes... It started back in September of we needed to pay our Dish Network bill, it was past due and shut off. We got a bill from dish and them from a company called CBE the CBE groupe Inc.

Now the company said that they were going to charge us for the equipment if we didn't send it back, or just pay the past due. Soooo we kept the equipment because we knew that we were going to pay the past due and be turned back on. We were also told that if we didn't send back the actual "dish satellite" that they would put a lein on our house. This "dish" was put on by a professional with very tall ladders, and if I were to take if off, I would have holes in my house. (what ever happened to, "leave the dish for the next owners")

So then the CBE groupe sent another bill for a total of about $837.95 on. Our outstanding amount was only $288.50 with Dish Network and at the same time, Anderson Crenshaw & Associates for a total of $937.50.

Now just to let you know, I called a long time ago, Dish Network's number to turn on service when we built this house, they sent a service guy out from their company with all equipment etc. I called no other company to set up service.

So we paid the Dish Network bill that was past due, and then some to turn back on. We were all caught up. I even got a letter from Dish saying I had a zero balance with them. Now this issue is on our credit report.

I called Anderson Crenshaw and told them that this was paid, even faxed the letter. They said it wasn't good enough. They started harrassing me by phone. So I said these words "Do no call my home anymore, you can contact me by mail" They still kept harrassing me by phone. One time I hung up on them and they called back to just hang up on me. Caller ID is wonderful...

Here's a list of the bills and dates just to see the problem
8/02/05 dish network 190.93
9/02/05 dish network total 288.58
shut off then
9/27/05 CBE 837.95
11/11/05 CBE 837.95
11/10/05 Anderson Crenshaw & Associates $937.50
which says "Direct Security Services/Dish Network"

These are the harrassing phone calls that are documented
12/21/05
12/26/05
12/27/05 12:45
2/8/06 5:33
2/9/06
2/10/06
2/11/06
2/13/06
called dish to fix problem again on 2/8/06,
2/09/06,2/10/06, spoke with Eric in Customer Care Center. (sent letter on zero owed to dish)

Then started documenting times and dates of apparently still not off credit report and reported paid.
5:30 3/22/06
12:45 4/14/06
11:14 4/13/06 again do not call house, mail
11:15 4/13/06
10:28 am 4/12/06
2:27 4/12/06
2:27 4/12/06 again less than a minute
3:30 4/12/06
3:19 4/12/06
9:09 4/15/05

In the meantime I kept calling Dish for help, they said they (anderson crenshaw) should have taken it off already, they will try again.

Called dish on monday 23 of january and again on 27th or 28th at 1pm and spoke with "teresa" with customer service. They said that they sent the email to Anderson Crenshaw on December 27th and it would be 30 days from that time for the calls to stop

The calls have never stopped I just ignore them and some have been coming is as slightly different numbers. Now that it's time to refi the house. Guess what, It's still on the credit report. But guess what, the old is off and now a new one was just put on as Direct Security Services (only) for the amount of $938.00 as of 10 This is showing as a new collection. I called this so called Direct Security Service and guess what, it's Anderson Crenshaw and Associates again. I went thru the same speeches again... Still not winning, so I asked for the phone numbers to call direct to "Direct Security Systems" they also told me that direct security services is not part of dish, they said "These numbers are private" so I asked for a copy of this so called signed contract. They told me they didn't have to provide the contract to me unless disputing within 3 months of start of account, so I told them that I'll contact the Attorney General for the States help. Then they HUNG UP ON ME!!! Imagine that!!! Here's some other info pertaining to this company that I have found on the internet.

(they are no longer part of the Better Business Bureau, "Anderson Crenshaw is the subject of so many unresolved complaints from consumers that the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas Inc. Has given it an "unsatisfactory" record. Of the 221 debt-collection firms that the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas has information on, 10 percent, or 24, have an unsatisfactory record, said Jeannette Kopko, bureau senior vice president. Anderson Crenshaw is no longer a member of the BBB, so it has stopped responding to complaints from it, Backal said."

"got a call from the official sounding Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates, claiming I owed an extraordinary amount of money for past home alarm system monitoring, and would I be able to pay up today before they are forced to file suit for breach of contract..."

(this is close to the same line I'm gettting saying I had a breach of contract, sooooooo I said I would like to see this so called contract I signed and he (senior auditor shawn atwood) said he doesn't have to give me a copy except in the first 3 months from having my acount, so I said well that's good for me since you put it on the credit record as of 10/06 as a new company. He hung up on me... I know my rights!!! They can play head games with me, but I can make their employees hang up or cry. The key of course for me is DO YOUR RESEARCH AND WATCH YOUR CREDIT REPORT AND KEEP ALL YOUR RECORDS AND LOG EVERY CALL, WHO YOU TALKED TO, TIME, DATE AND THE CONVERSTION.

This is pretty interesting, they won't take it off our credit either, even though i can produce and have, documentation of this debt being paid to original debtor. Apparently they have had a suit agaist them also over the same issue.
