I contacted united debt solutions in flordia right after i got married in 2004. They sent me a couple of forms in a folder that didnt really look legit, but... I had called the better business burea in flordia and the company wasnt listed, i also looked online for any complaints against the company and couldnt find anything..
The bad thing was i went with the because i found their ad on television! They read off some crap over the phone to me and i was told to state my name after it was read. (to agreement). I wasnt ever sent a physical contract to sign.
I was told to set up an account for united debt solutions to take money out of every month... I was to deposit 668.00 each month..$333.00 was to be taken out of the account by U.D.S. For "their fee" for handling my debt negotiations. The other $333.00 was to stay in the account so they could negotiate with my creditors and pull money out of the account to pay off the creditors. When "their fees" reached a certain amount, then they would start the negotiations.
Well I payed them and payed them... About 3200.00.8 months later i recieved a warrent in debt by a police officer at my door... I immediately called them and asked about the situation and what i should do... Capital one was the company that filed it... They talked to a woman named susan and susan told them that if i didnt cough up $537.00 THAT NIGHT!!! That i would be taken to court for the full amount of the debt... UNITED DEBT SOLUTIONS basically acted like they couldnt do anything for me and that susan. Or sue. Would not take any negotiations or a no for an answer. I ended up doing a check by phone.
3 weeks later UDS calls me and says that 2 of my creditors want to settle... 1 of them for 900 dollars. That night... And another for 1300.00 by monday. I flipped out. HERES the deal. They are full of crap. I told the rep that i wasnt even done paying UDS their fees. Much less have a chance to save up all that money in my account over 7-8 months, (which i did have FOR OTHER BILLS!) and pay capital one 5oo plus bucks... (just to stay out of court. Thats right none of that money went toward my debt to capital one) it all went. Just to stay out of court with capitol one!
Now they wanted me to basically cough up over 2000.00 in one month. They did not tell me that my creditore would settle2-3 at a time and that i needed all of this money to settle out... Then i found out that I COULD NEGOTIATE WITH my creditors MYSELF! I DIDNT need these fools to do this for me.
I HAD a decent credit score up untill UNITED DEBT SOLUTIONS. They ruined my credit. I was so distrought that I had to pay another 1025.00 to file bankruptcy. Oh and right when i figured out it was a scam. I contacted all my creditors by phone and mail and explained what had happened. I also sent UDS my letter of explanation for cancelling my business with them and of course they sent me a letter saying that they were keeping my money i paid them.
I sent the same letter to all 9 creditors as well. Well my creditors wouldnt even talk to me, they referred me to colleciton agencies. I gave all these collection agencies all of my info. (they didnt even have my phone number or address! And started makeing payments to MANN BRACKEN... And others. I PAYED MAN BRACKEN OVER 700.00 AND I came to them and waited on the phone with the lady to start making payments immediatly... TRYING TO do the right thing! (this was before i was forced to file bankruptcy)...
Creditors started calling day and night. Wanting insane amounts to settle out. Within 2-3 days!!! I didnt have it. I started getting threatened with court actions. More warrents came to my door... And finally i had to go to a lawyer to file bankruptcy... I couldnt take it any more. All of this crap in my life because i was fooled and robbe by UNTIED DEBT SOLUTIONS..
I wanted and TRIED to do the right thing and ended up paying over 6000.00 in a matter of 3 months just to stay out of court and try to make things right with my creditors... My credit report was ruined. I was up to date and current and made EVERY SINGLE payment on time with all my card companies... I have my credit report to prove it.
united debt solutions ruined my finaicial future and now i cannot get a decent home loan. I dont know if i will ever get to own a home because of these horrible people. Please read this and DO NOT use UNITED DEBT SOLUTIONS... I have payed and payed because of them and they walked away with 3000.00 of my hard earned money..
I wait tables and it's hard enough making the rent and working all of those hours. If ANY LAWYER is interested. I still have all of my paper work. Every single piece. And i would love to get my money back. I just dont know where to begin. Contact me at: * (REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)
