Vanderbilt Mortgage
Ripoff poor customer service fraudulent practices

We had a home we purchased and finance thru Vanderbilt Mortgage. We made our insurance payments with the mortgage payments. When our insurance was added into our payments, we never recieved a copy of the policy and I never thought to ask for one.

In July we had a fire that destroyed our home and everything in it but the clothes on our backs. We even had an automobile damaged by that fire. We went to the the sales center to get information to make the claim. We were told by the person who sold us the home that we had nothing to worry about and we would be taken care of.
Was he ever wrong. Never in my life have I been so disgusted. On top of losing everything and having to start all over, we were given the run around like you would not believe. We were told that we had to still make our mortgage payments as scheduled because although we could not live in the house we were still responsible for the loan.

The insurance adjuster did a disappearing act on me and stopped taking and returning my calls. After trying to reach him for a straight week, I got fed up and contacted his supervisor. I got an immediate return call from him and needless to say he was not a happy camper.
He told me that he was not going to release any monies dealing with my claim until I sent reciepts for everything that was in my house and if I didnt send in reciepts then he would depreciate the value of everything by 50%.

I went to see and attorney. When the attorney got involved, I got a check for the payoff that was 3000 less than what it was supposed to be. I also got a check for the 50 percent depreciated value of my content coverage.

I have never in my life seen such unprofessional customer service. I have been hung up on too many times to count. I have had my grandmother harassed. They started calling her daily telling her that we need to make our payments of they were going to foreclose on our property. I just feel sooooo helpless in this situation. If ever there is a class action suit my name will without a doubt be on the list. This has to stop.
