National Action Financial Services, NAFS constant autodialer calls Ripoff

After receiving a phone call from the NAFS autodialer, I sent NAFS the letter below. The recorded message was actually quite amusing. The male voice went on and on about "patience is no longer a virtue" and that I was to call "Bill Shine" at 866-529-1902 "by close of business today" or they would take some ominous-sounding action. The recording never identified their company.

Since that initial phone call, they have called back at least five times. I will wait until I receive the green return receipt postcard before filing complaints with the FTC, the Attorney Generals for the states of New York and Virginia, and the BBB. (Believe it or not, NAFS is a BBB member in good standing, despite the huge number of unresolved complaints listed on the BBB's own web site!)

Dear Sir or Madam,

On Monday, October 9, at 7:02pm EST, your automated dialer system called us at 757-xxx-xxxx. Our caller ID device showed the originating number as 716-650-6240. The recorded message requested that we call "Bill Shine" at 866-529-1902.

We are writing to give you notice under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that we want you to cease all telephonic communications with us. We demand that no telephone contact be made by any of your offices to our home, our cell phones, or to our places of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with us, we will consider it harassment. All future communications with us MUST be done in writing and sent to us by US mail at the address below. All other attempts of contact will be ignored.

Please remove the phone number 757-xxx-xxxx from your databases. We do not want to receive any calls from your company, either from a live person or from an automated calling device. This demand to cease telephonic communications applies to your offices in New York, Georgia, Nebraska, and any other location. This demand also applies to any of your affiliates and associates, including SITEL Corporation.

After reviewing the numerous negative reports about your company at web sites such as usacomplaints.com and budhibbs.com, we have no desire to speak to anyone in your organization.

Please also be advised that if you allege that we owe you any money, we will dispute any alleged debt under the provisions of federal law and the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. You are also notified that should any adverse information be placed against my/our credit reports as a result of this notice that appropriate actions will be taken.

Please give this very important matter the attention it deserves.
