I thought I was applying for a cash loan on Sept. 15. I dicovered a week later, that Acclaim has taken $159.95 out of my checking account.
I called my bank to retrieve the phone number. I gave them a call. A customer rep.By the name of Bernette took my call. I explained to him my situation.
The application had 2 steps to it. You have to fill it out completely inorder to send it. The 2nd step was a bonus to apply for a card. He said to me that I didn't have to fill it out.
There was no place on that application saying that I could decline that offer and I couldn't by pass it either.
He stated to me that I don't qualify to get a refund. I asked him why. He said that I had to call within the 3 business days that I applied. I told him that I didn't apply for a credit card. I was applying for a cash loan.
When they took that amount that made my account negative.
I have to pay $159.95 plus an additional $30.00 for something I don't want.
They are false advertising. I truly thought I was applying for a cash loan and now I can't get my money back.
I hope that something could be done about this. I have written a letter to the Attorney General explaining my situation.
I'm just waiting for a responce. I also called the Better Business Bureau and left them a msg. As well.
This is not fair to scam people out of their hard earn money.
I want justice to be done.
