Complaint / Review
CountryWide Home Loans
This Company is destined for a future failure. Hopefully soon

We have tried for the last 9 months to pay our
mortgage - even if it was minimum payments.

In March we moved into our home. At that time
we were w / Accredited Mortgage - which is a great
company - no problems ever with them.

Then the loan was sold (the 1st part of our
mortgage)
to CountryWide.

In April my husband was diagnosed with epilepsy
and thus lost his job because of it - yes we are
going through EEOC. We had enough savings to get
through a few months of mortgage payments and in
September the savings ran out which was going to be
used for taxes but this money was not due until June,
unfortunately due to the circumstances we were forced
to use this for Mortgage payments.

In August I called CountryWide to make payment
arrangements for the next couple of months to either
defer or make regular payments and add a couple of
hundred dollars in addition to the regular payment.

CountryWide refused this and they said we would have
to wait until the payment was actually considered
late. So we went ahead and waited until it was late
and then called again. & Oh you and your husband
qualify for the Work Out department — let me
transfer you that way. So we applied for the work out
department which we guess that they adjust the loan
almost like a refinance to make the payments lower
OR to defer like we originally wanted to do. So we
rec'd a letter back from them stating that we were not
qualifed for this arrangement without an explanation
as to why we were not qualified. So we had called
and they had stated that our investor would not allow
such arrangements — we were stunned as none of this is
listed clearly in our mortgage paperwork. So we
then tried to apply for payment arrangements. They
requested that we fax over check stubs, bank
statements, and a letter of hardship. So we did as
requested. After 30 days we received another letter
saying that we had been denied the request because
they did not recieve the paperwork. So we called,
sent it again, same thing. This has occurred 5
times now of which once I have had the rep call me back to confirm receipt of the paperwork I had sent over.
Then this January we received a notice of default that
they would be initiating foreclosure proceedings. So then the legal, late fees and interest started piling up.

We have tried several times to initiate a partial
payment of which they have stopped us from doing so
by saying it has to be all or none.

We very much believe that CountryWide is a predatory
lender, and this is conspiracy and should be stopped
in their tracks. We very much deserve to stay in
our home and have tried everything with them to work
with them and have also tried to contact their managers
by leaving voicemails, calling to see if they are
available and have had no calls returned ever. It's
always the excuse they are in a meeting.

As you can imagine this is very frustrating and very
stressful on our family as all we are trying to do
is be faithful and had called them ahead of time to
work this out and now we are on the verge of losing our
home. August 30th is the "foreclosure date".
Recently we have had several collection calls by
them in which they are not reading the history on the
account and then we have to go in cirle's again...
Then they are offering refinancing, "oh you qualify
with our full spectrum lending division" to
refinance and possibly get you out of this
situation. We have also had reps suggest that we sell
our home or that we just give it over to them. We
were told by another party that this is considered
predatory lending.

What do we do? How can we keep our home?

I e-mailed Countrywide last night a letter regarding
our loan explaining our situation for the 100th time
and that we would not accept any more phone calls
from reps but would accept a call from a division
manager or Mr. Mozila himself. I have the personal
addresses and phone numbers of some of the executive
board which was easy to obtain from whitepages.com and
am very tempted to write or call them but don't want
to feel like I would be a psycho or harrassing them.

We again would like to save our home. We just want
to have a chance to do so and do not feel that we are
getting a chance or that our rights are being
denied.

We have also put in a complaint to the FTC, Acorn, Several Law Firms, as well as the Attorney General, and Better Business Bureau. Oh also submitted information regarding these to ABC News (20/20), and FOX2KTVI. Getting ready to send to CNN as well as MSNBC, NBC as well as other local stations here.
