I recieved a letter a year ago from this company stating I owed Citibank for unpaid payments.
Since I have never had any dealings with Citibank I found this odd and was not about to pay it. I pulled my credit report just to make sure their wasn't anything bad on it and their was not. I called the company and after them having assisted I owed money I contacted a lawyer who was able to track down the fact they did something called a "Trace.." (can't remember the whole term.)
This lead them to me because I had the same name, lived in the same area, and was the same age of the person who owed. After 4 months I finally got them to remove me from their system showing that I owed money.
Today I recieved a letter trying to collect the same money that a year ago I have proved I did not owe. I thought this was some type of error and called them up. Once again they seem to think I do owe it and now it looks like I have to back to my lawyer and start the whole process over again.
