We have been banking with Wachovia before they were Wachovia. I think we started with First Union and went from there. Anyway. We got SLAMMED with fees in January to the tune of about $800 in our personal checking account. Granted we made a couple of mistakes, but wowzer.
I just read an artical in the St Pete Times talking about bank fees. It said that Wachovia made about 50% of their profits from the fees it charges its customers. When I read that I had to say something. We made a few mistakes and their fees, on top of their fees put us under the gun. There was no getting out of it. Every time my wife wanted a latte from Starbucks, we had a $35 charge.
I mean, I have been their customer for years. They have ALL of my personal information (where I work, shop, pay rent, etc...) My phone number is listed with the bank. I NEVER received a single call before this bomb went off in my checking account and devistated us. It may seem like small change to you Wachovia, but when you tag someone for over $800 without the courtesy of a phone call (or just declining a purchase) you have gone to far. You should be ashamed and I hope bad things come your way too.
