I was a BankOne customer for many years then BankOne was purchased by Chase. I had several credit cards with BankOne with very favorable interest rates like 5.99 % ect. Then chase took over these accounts and started raising my interest rate. First 12% then 14 then 18% I called and complained and paid off one of the accounts. They claim that they based the interest rate on my credit profile and that my profile suggested I posed a risk of default.
This is funny because during this time I recieved credit line increases from some of the other credit cards I have and I have not had any other banks suddenly consider me a dangerous risk and raise my rates ONLY Chase has raised my interest rates. Now finally the interest rate is sit down 29.99%. I am now struggleing to pay off these accounts and never do business with Chase again. Be warned I see Chase making offers that seem like good deals but later they will jack up your interest rate and you will suffer.
Chase is the worst ripoff bank I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
Please note I may sound like some dead beat guy that maybe missed a few payments and am now complaining just to complain. This is not the case I always pay EVERY bill way before the due date and have never missed any payment to anyone so there is no justification for this. That is why I am so mad about all this. How can Chase justify charging me 29.99% interest when I have never missed or have been late on a single payment. Oh well you have been warned
