Complaint / Review
State Farm
Ripoff

We asked the Federal Government to send us information on flood Ins. Because our neighbor decided back in 03 to seal out a few water drain ditches, which had caused our property to flood.

Our neighbor explained that the city had allowed him to seal them off, which was a lie according to the city, but my complaint of the day is not that for which he did, but what state farm had done to us.

We were given a few names of a few Insurance Companies that would cover us in case we were flooded again, in case this moron would not open those drain ditches, he was ordered to open. Well he didnt and and we flooded again.

I should have known better, to read a contract before strolling into a new world, but I was in desperate mode at the time, this was due to the damages that were being caused and we had no way to pay for it, because the neighbors Ins. Company is fighting us all the way, even today we have not been compensated for the damage, which they continue to fight.

For those of you out there, please beware of what will happen when you do need to purchase flood Ins. We were not, because we did not read the info the government had sent and did not know we had to fully measure our land, to insure we would be covered. Here's why and the reasons we were not covered by State Farms Flood Insurance, provided by the National Flood Insurance Program.

Before I detail the crime, My wife and I called the State Farm agent in Albany Oregon and made an appointment, when we got there, we had waited 10 minutes, and two phone calls later to the agent before he had gotten back from lunch. This should have been my first clue, not to go with this company, and I assure you, this was not the first time troubles have begun to happen with this company, and with their insurance policies.

The agent showed up, and we were asked to his office. We told him that we needed flood Insurance on our home, that we were told that his company provided it. You've come to the right place, I'm sure everyone is told this, but not everyone is told the truth about flood insurance. He asked a few questions and it didnt dawn on me until he after accepting the upfront payment of $563.00 to cover our how, asked how much land did we have, and I gave him the info 150x 180, he said oh, ok. That was it.

Now knowing that a neighbor had recently flooded our property, he didnt even make any atempt to tell us, not to take the Ins, because they had no intentions of ever paying the claim, if we made one, which he knew of course we would, and did.

Thats when I knew this guy knew just what he wasw doing and that he had just screwed us out of $563.00 dollars and there was nothing in this world we could do about it, that is if I had read the info the government sent, which the government has yet to amend to date, because they know no one would readf it, just buy it, which is all they want as well. The MONEY.

Now I know why this clown at State Farm smile3d and asked how much land did we own. We own less than two acres of land. The trick is providing the agent with this ammo, so that he woul;d tell you if the flood ins would cover you, but to wait until a person pays then asks, is cold hard greed at its best.

It come to a point of ethics when money is at hand, and lie to those who donjt have it, in order to take every last bit, to insure they lose what was at stake in the first play, their home. Well the fight goes on.

I do want every one to know that, the reason he had asked us how much land we had, was because as the adjuster had pointed out to us, that we were not covered due to the fact that we did not own two or more acres of land and in order to be covered by the National flood Ins. Program, under flooding which he says we are not covered by two of the rules, one we do not have two or more acres of land and that two or more homes have to be damaged by the flood in question.

Here's a big tip, I hope you will all consider, no matter how much you trust the federal government, read all the information they send, and ask those crooked agents before you are asked for any money, is or will your home be covered by the police, and if you have enough land to be covered, because I'm surew I am not the only one who has gotten riped off by state farm, by the way for a second time. I should write about that too, so to protect consumers from their ethical pratices they seem to practice so well and frequent no a days.

Seeing how as the agent has claimed to the ins commission of oregon, he got away with stealing my money, but after informing all of you, he wont get away with it again.
