Complaint / Review
Ocwen
Ripoff Internet Illinois

Reafirmed in Chapt. 7, Never received proper paperwork for reafirmation, they claimed my attorney had to suply that to them, yet the other companies we reafirmed had no problems sending out a simple letter that only needed signed and sent back. Give attorney direct #s to call and deal with himself, he got nowhere either.

Went to refinance due to higher interest rates at first of the year (had to find that out from a mortage company soliciting us by phone 6 months prior to increase and notification from Ocwen) found that our credit report showed no payments received since discharge. Called and they claimed that our mortage had been discharged with them and it was illegal for them to report to credit report. Claimed they did not receive reafirmation paperwork, so went through that whole loop again to no avail.

Always make payments online, thier website down 2 months in a row, when I call I have to deal directly with Bankruptcy dept. And am charged $15 for each payment they accept by phone. Last month they told me I had to contact my trustee and retrieve for them a 'Pending Order' call me dumb but don't know exactly what that is. She did explain that basically it allows them to foreclose on us with out any problems due to our being in bankruptcy. I explained to her that I do not deal with the trustee and have had issues with Ocwen and their document needs and that they should contact the Trustee and my attorney directly so they can all receive proper paperwork from eachother. They claim they can not have contact with my attorney.

When our loan was sold to Ocwen. My husband's name stayed on the account but mine mysteriously 'fell off'. I couldn't even make a payment by phone until he called and 'authorized me'.

I never understood why we was sold. We was Never late and our credit did not change from the time of the refinancing til the date that Ocwen took over (5 months). We had went through Country Wide who went through Accredited who sold it to Ocwen.

So, now our interest rate is going up from 7.49 to 8.99 on 1st and not sure yet on 2nd, haven't received notification on it yet. I don't understand why they claim we are discharged, and claim they need a pending order yet they can raise our rates?

We are looking into refinacing LOCALLY. At least we can understand the people we deal with when speaking to them and don't have to go through 5 people to get an answer to something I didn't need an answer to. You can never get an answer to the easiest questions.

Maybe this will let others know they are not alone... I wrote this due to reading Jeremy's and he wanting to know of others in Missouri... I am 1 out of 3 just in this town of 1,800, so how many more people have they ripped off. One of the 3 of us in now dealing with an attorney due to foreclosure and haveing 3 different payoff balances, along with statements under the wrong spelling of their name and not reflecting payments made... Good Luck to us all, maybe something good will come of this and we will all be able to relax in our homes instead of wondering when will they rip me out of it.
