It appears the only way to make payments to Select Portfolio Servicing is by certified return receipt mail. SPS (Fairbanks) aquired my account in 2002. Since the very first payment sent FedEx by Option One Mortgage was lost by SPS I have had nightmare after nightmare with this so called loan servicing company.
After making an over the phone payment they will repeat your correct routing and account number back to you. Then, in a predator like manner they will send this payment to your bank or they may just send you a letter saying "Invalid Account". I have even called my bank on the 25th to find out if a payment post dated on the 20th was presented. Answer from bank NO. I then called SPS and they will tell you it can take up to ten business days to clear. When you make the payment SPS tells you 3 business days. You are now thirty days past due. Good luck getting refinanced!!! This is a Predator Lender.
I have also requested a payment history on numerous occasions to find out what the unexplained fees are for. I have yet to receive them. When I call back to find out when I might receive it they have no record of the request from me.
I am currently seeking legal help to escape this monster or stop them from gaining future or past victims.
