On 12/20/94 I was contacted at my place of employment by Mary Shaw of Corporate Recievables. She was trying to contact me about my debt from Household Bank. I asked her not to call me at work because this would cause disaplinary action againts me. She then said she would call me at a later date.
She then called me at work again on 12/21/04 and told me that she would talk to me at home because I would record the phone conversation. I asked her I do that for legal reasons. She then raised her voice and would threaten me with anytime I tried to speak. I also tried to tell her that she is violating my rights and my job. She would then shout at me saying that I was not cooperating.
After about 45 minutes I was able to get her to leave me alone by relenting to pay the bill. She then called me at home and yelled some more and became more abusive. I recorded that conversation and had a witness listen in on the conversation. I also had the witness talk to Mary Shaw, but she became even more abusive and hung up.
After researching my rights I found that using the fair collection practices act I was able to make my own deal in writting. I also contacted the Federal Trade Comission and found out that I can charge a fee to Corporate Receivables and reduce my debt. I do want to pay my debts, but these practices must stop. I was able to spike the wheels of Corporate Receivables and I will have my debt paid by Feb.
