Tried to close out chacking account with Wells Fargo Bank N.A. After trying to pay off Advance wage draw from employer, Had it down to under $54 and with late fees, overdraft fees, NSF fees acount went to $505.45 total. I paid off cash advance od $132. They have me still owing in charges and fees about $385. I wrote on the last check that it was to pay off Overdraft fees, NSF fees, and my cash advance. I wrote below this account paid in full and closed! They cashed the check and placed the $132 against my cash advance.
I have written the MN att. General's office and the MN and ND BBB on this matter because the bank would not work with me or freeze fees so I could pay off my account to close it. They have aperson in a loop in payin off the account unless you have the full cash amount to do so. Mind you I am fully unemployed with a good work background and I am homeless. I have been using odd jobs and unemployment payments to try to pay them off in good faith.
This matter as of 02/17, will go to collection for the $385 from me for the fees they have charged. They could drop these fees at any time they wish to do so, but due to other late fees I paid out in in they are unwilling to work with me because they reversed a few of them early this year (in 2005).
At this point I am left with no where to turn.
