After being sideswiped by another driver on I-45 in Houston, I filed a claim with the driver's insurance company, Progressive Insurance. Getting them to repair my car was a month-long nightmare. They were dishonest, slow, and rude, and they tried to get out of paying at every turn.
Even though the police report clearly identified the driver at fault, Progressive took two weeks to accept my claim, during which time I had no means of transportation. Then the Progressive agent lied and said I was not entitled to a rental car while my car was being repaired. It took almost a week and calls to two different Progressive managers before finally getting the rental car to which I was legally entitled. Then Progressive refused to pay for all of the rental because they said the repairs took too long, sticking me with a portion of the rental bill. They also refused to pay all of the repair bill, saying that the shop should have used junkyard parts instead of new parts.
The entire ordeal took almost a month. The Progressive agent and his managers lied on multiple occasions, failed to return my phone calls, and in the end they stuck me with both part of the rental car bill and part of the repair bill. This is the worst insurance experience I've ever had.
