Hello my name is Oscar Acuna, I am 20 years old and I am writing this in hopes to gain participation to boycott Bank of America.
I am a massage therapy student at Apollo College in Mesa, AZ and I work for an internet company when I am not attending school and I spend the rest of my time with friends and family... Here is my story with the greedy giant!
I have been a Bank of America customer for years and at one point I was even employed by the bank. When I started school I opened a savings account to have my student tuition directly withdrawn from my college. This helped me keep track of my expenses and make sure my tuition was always paid on time. After about six months I decided to open new account with a credit union because as we all know they are far less expensive to work with and FAR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I notified my school's financial dept. Of the change and advised them that I would be placing my tuition funds into a new account with a new institution. Everything was taken care of... Or so I thought.
At the time my school was going through some changes and my request was not processed. As a result my Bank of America account was overdrawn. Bank of America rejected the charge and did not pay out any money and charged me $34.00. After three attempts my account was overdrawn $102.00!
The person that I had spoken to was no longer employed there. Apparently, I had to process a written request and call a third party to complete the change. The request was going to take a few weeks and my school was unable to assist me any further. I went to Bank of America and asked them to place a block on my account. No one would help me and no one offered a solution. The only feedback I got was to write a letter to Bank of America. Meanwhile Bank of America continued to charge me fees $34.00 at a time!
After three months my account was overdrawn $791.00. The problem with my school had been taken care of... But now I have a new problem. Although Bank of America is not losing any money and never paid out any money for my tuition. They want me to pay them almost $800.00 in bank fees.
If I do not pay this amount, my account will close and they will report to all three credit bureaus negatively on my behalf. I will have a difficult time obtaining credit in the future.By the time I take legal action against my school, Bank of America will have closed my account. If my account is closed my credit score will reflect this even if I pay the amount!!! I personally spoke to a several Bank Managers and was told they would not help me. They did not care or sympathize with my situation. They would do the same for you!
I will die before I pay this ugly, greedy giant a penny. I would rather take the $800.00 and give it to people who care... People who need it.
If before jan 7th bank of america does not waive my fees i will give anyone who closes a bank of america account $50.00 up to $800.00 total. Here is how it will work. On jan 7th i will personally be at the bofa branch on chandler blvd and alma school in chandler in arizona. If you close your account i will personally hand you $50.00 in cash!!!
