I recieved a call one evening, so I looked on my caller ID and found it to be an unknown name unknown number. I answered it to find out who it was. A gentalmen by the name of Kris Allen was speaking to me about being picked out of ten other people from my state for a garunteed $5000 dollar grant from the US government.
I continued to listen as he spoke giving me his ID number, his name, the address of the company Howell Branch Road Suit 427 Winter Park Florida 32792, and the comstomer service number 1-866-503-7345 saying that I could call them with any type of questions I would have. He also gave me the website address www.advantageamerica.com. After that he told me they are not calling for any type of personal information like phone number, address, and social security number but procceded to ask me for my bank account number which I refused to give. He told me that I would recieve a package of legal documents and 500 dollars in coupons in two days. He told me he would need the bank account number to tranferre the grant money to my account, but I still refused to give it.
He still would not take no for an answer, so I then hung up the phone. A minute later the phone rang again and the same infomation showed up on the caller ID. I then went to the web site he provided me. I then found consumer complaints.com where I came across two reports showing the same information, from the same company, using the same methods of scaming people for bank account information. I was not scamed out of the forty Nine dollar amount like the other people. But I want to make others aware that these reports are true and Advantage America is not to be trusted.
