I received a call from Bank of America in which a representative offered Life Insurance through The Hartford and the were offering a 30 day trial. If I keep the policy they would bill me $14.40/monthly. I received this call beginning of June, I called before the 30 days was up to cancel the policy, I wrote down the date and the representatives name. Unfortunately the other day while I was cleaning I accidently threw the paper/letter away that I wrote the information on.
Last week I saw that they took out for the $14.40. I called them Sept. 9 asking what happened and Seth stated that I never canceled the policy. He said that if I did the individual that I spoke with would have put it in the system (starting off wrong by calling me a liar is not a good thing).
Then he stated that it was canceled and that they would refund the $14.40. I let him know because of the company taking that fee out it caused an overdraft fee of $31 and that I wanted my money for that too. He stated that the money would be back within 2-3 business days. Today is the 4th day and still no refund.
I called today and the person I spoke with today said they are not paying me the money back because they didn't receive the premimum. I told her obviously they did because $14.40 was deducted from my account. She then stated I'd have to write to the corporate office.
Okay so I decided to call my bank and file a claim against them. I know to most people $14.40 is nothing but to me that is alot because we were robbed and treated rudely. There are other places to complain about but don't have the time. Be forewarned people.
