I have been a Fifth Third customer for over 15 years. I hate them. Hate hate hate them! But... I stay with them. Why? Convenience, pure and simple!
I am not in the habit of overdrawing accounts, so that isn't the issue I have with them, although I've been in that situation before.
I used to have a car loan through Fifth Third. Several times, if I had gone into the "grace period" of the loan. Not LATE mind you, just GRACE period, they would take the payment amount out of my checking account! THEN I had a check or two bounce because of it. When I asked the CSR about it, she said they did it basically because they could. I couldn't believe it!
They did this a couple of times to me, then I just started paying the loan before the due date to stop it. I guess that's what they wanted all along.
So yes I hate them, but I'm a slave to Fifth Third. They have locations everywhere, you can bank and bill-pay online, they have ATMs all over the place, their bankmarts are open on Sundays and they are one of the only banks that hasn't been bought & sold and changed its name over and over again. They suck, no doubt but I'm stuck with them.
