I wanted to respond briefly to the poster who noted that people with poor credit are somehow "losers." As a resident of NYC, I can assure you there are a number of us with less than stellar credit thanks to a substantial loss of income post 9-11 and for many of us, we do not qualify for any type of assistance. If the choice is feeding myself or paying a credit bill, I opt for the former.
I got a letter from Capital Choice Consumer Credit this week and for a moment I contemplated sending it in, as I could use some extra credit in case the economic situation fails to pick up in Spring 2002 but THANKS so much for tipping me off here. FYI - I find it tasteless beyond belief that they are now targeting New Yorkers, who are facing a credit crunch due to 9-11. That goes so far into the gutter that I hope these people can sleep at night.
