This is an awful agency due to a Capital One account. To make a long story very short, they have harrassed me on my cell phone and home so many times a day I have lost count. The agents are rude, arrogant, and just awful people. I don't know how they can go to sleep at night after talking so disrespectful to people all day. What a depressing job. Here is a quick rundown of what has happened:
1/25/05 - I called Allied Interstate. Told her I will pay the entire amount BY 2/8/05 when I got enough money together. She told me to overnight the money, as after the 8th, there will be a "new" amount due. She wanted me to do a check by phone but I said NO WAY. They will receive a certified check from my bank.
2/2/05 - Agent calls me to find out where my payment is. I called her back and told her that I am overnighting the certified check on 2/4/05, so i will have it in before the 8th. Suddenly the amount changed! All of a sudden, there is additional interest added onto the account. I recapped the previous conversation and of course she said that's not what she originally said.
I told her I expect something in writing that I have paid this in full. Here is my question: She told me I would have to fax a request to them that I want a letter stating this debt has been taken care of. Then they will send me one. Has anyone been told the same thing?
After reading everything I have read on this website and based on my dealings with them, I have a feeling this isn't going to be the end of the story.
I am afraid I won't get anything showing I paid the debt (hence, the certified check from my bank so I at least have SOMETHING). How do I get proof it was paid in full? I am so scared they're going to add more charges after that.
