The error involves Palisades Collection Agency and a delinquent ATT account for $187 dating back to April. However, I never had an ATT account.in July Equifax corrected this error. I thought the problem was resolved, however, the error recurred in October on the Equifax and Experian sections of the Credco credit report used for home mortgage applications. I attempted to correct the error with Equifax on line, but Equifax did not correct the error and stated that the delinquent ATT account was mine.
Knowing that I never had an ATT account, I did an internet search on Palisades Collection Agency. Google.com returns hundreds if not thousands of complaints from fraud victims who discovered the past due collection accounts on their credit reports. Most cited Equifax credit reports while some included Experian as well.
In all instances, Palisades indicated that the account past due was an ATT or Sprint account. But, the victims never had ATT or Sprint accounts. Or in some instances, the victims never had accounts past due, especially those with ongoing accounts in good standing with ATT or Sprint.in some instances, the victims paid Palisades by credit card over the phone. Others have attempted to resolved the error by dispute.in all cases, no resolution ever occurred. Palisades is involved in debt collections fraud.
I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
I have filed disputes with Equifax and Experian.
