Terrible response and service

A water leak occured at home on 2-23-13. The bottom line is Hanover did not issue the first estimate/check until the week of 4-1-13 and they are still denying things. There are several issues with this claim but I focus here on a few. The contractor Hanover sent out to my home cut up a large section of my floor (5 ft x 6 ft) and turns out it tested positive for asbestos. They set up 5 industrial fans and blew all that debris (and asbestos) all over my entire home without moving any furniture out, covering anything or even putting up plastic to protect the rest of my home. Only the kitchen, dining and living room were initially damaged by the water. We have been reasonable and tried to be good stewards of Hanover's money but they have been terrible. They ripped out my bottom kitchen cabinets and when they finally completed their estimate and issued me a check six weeks later, they did not include replacing all of the bottom cabinets or the top cabinets stating they did not have to match (my cabinets were built into the house 40 years ago and not able to be matched. They finally approved the bottom cabinets on 4-16-13 but not the top ones. I rushed the contractor to re-built my kitchen, dining and living rooms (flooring, cabinets, walls, etc.) and have everything done by 4-23-13 and had servicemaster scheduled to clean up the rest of my house (the debris and asbestos their contractor blew all over my walls, carpet, beds, etc.), that Thursday 4-25-13. Not surprisingly, Hanover delayed approval of the servicemaster clean-up which caused them to have to clean 4 days later than planned and also caused me to have to extend my rental agreement which I had tried so hard to avoid (they should have tried to avoid that expense too. The adjuster unit manager lied to us on Friday 4-26-13 stating he would review the rental agreement and let us know within an hour — he kept us hanging until Saturday night, knowing we had to sign and pay the additional rent on Friday. (Note: I work out of my home for a hospital handling sensitive medical information so I had to have an secure, approved location for work). Hanover caused the delay 100% and now they are trying to stick me with the additional rent caused by their delay and also with the top cabinet expense (and no telling what else). The adjuster put in his denial response on the rent that he "feels" it is unreasonable and cannot approve it. He also said this should have been completed by the end of April. Well, maybe it could have been if he had not delayed the first quote/check for six weeks, the second check for nearly eight weeks and still expenses pending. Hanover caused all the delays 100% and I have been as patient as possible. Also, interjecting his "feelings" on the matter is unprofessional and, more importantly, this is not about HIS or Hanover's feelings, it is about me being displaced for a ridiculous amount of time and about me incurring extra expense because of their poor response time. I will hire public adjusters and will continue to file complaints with the department of insurance and sites like this to get fairly reimbursed for the rental expense and top cabinets and to get an apology for how this has been handled. I am a 67 year old who has lived in my home for 40 years. It has been almost three months since this claim was initiated and I am still not back in my home. This all should have been resolved within six weeks not three months. This has been a disaster and the Hanover adjuster AND THE UNIT MANAGER are rude and unresponsive to customer's needs.
