I have never been so insulted in all my life. I had to have emergency dental work, and my grandmother offered to let me use her as my co - for the payment plan. She's very elderly and not able to do much, so when Care Credit started sending her the barrage of mailings they do, I told her I would take care of it. First off, it took almost full ten minutes just to get a human being on the phone, and I don't talk to robots. I tried to explain to Joe, who finally got on the phone, that I just needed them to change the address of their mailings so it came to me and not my grandmother, who didn't understand any of it. The emails all already come to me, so I figured no problem. They refused, and said they needed my grandmother's approval, which I understand. They said it had to be done over the phone. I said that's not possible as my grandmother is elderly and their phone system sucks. She couldn't hold the phone for the amount of time it would take to get to a person (she doesn't talk to robots either). They could provide no alternative method for identification, which I found ludicrous in this multi media age. When asked what next I should do, Joe suggested I go out and get power of attorney over my grandmother. To pay a dental bill, Joe, and by extension Care Credit, actually suggested to me that I take the last bit of my grandmother's pride and control so I could have bills mailed to me. I not only find that highly inappropriate, but rude, unprofessional, and downright disrespectful. Care Credit obviously doesn't care a lick about their customers or aiding them. Not only are they too lazy to foster any other way to identify yourself than by over-the-phone, but would rather humiliate and cost their customers (because yes, it costs money to get power of attorney) than do what should be in their job descriptions.
