Complaint / Review
First Convenience Bank, First National Bank Of Texas
Ripoff

This bank has the worst customer service department that I have ever encountered in my life. I moved to Texas approximately 3 years ago and started a savings account with this company. But because they only had a few branches and none were easily accessible to me since I did not have a car at the time, I closed the account.

About two months ago, I opened a new checking and savings account with the company since there was a branch close to my home and my place of employement. I walked into the branch with two forms of id and set up my account.

More than 30 days had passed and I not received a checking account statement but I did receive one for my savings account. I called the bank and was tried to find out why. The customer service rep asked me to verify my address and when I gave her my current address, she said that was not the address on the account. And would not give me any information regarding my account.

I went into the branch, again, with my Id and explained the situation. It turns out that the bank linked my checking account with the first address that I had. But the savings account had the correct address. Ok, no problem. I asked that it be corrected asap. One week later, I tried to set up internet banking and was told that my application was denied due to address mismatch.

I called the bank again and was asked to verify my address. Again it was wrong. So I verified the old address and requested that it be updated. The rep said she updated the address and even repeated ito to me. She said internet banking would be set up for me in 24 hours.

I went out of town. Came back four days later and still could not log onto internet banking. I called the customer service department again and asked to speak to a supervisor. I explained the situation again and wanted to know why the customer service department couldn't not process simple address changes. The supervisor apoligized and said the address would be updated. That she would personally walk the correction to the station where the information is input so that it could be changed. She informed me that my internet banking would be set up in 24 hours.

Needless to say, 24 hours later, I still could not log onto internet banking. So when I called the customer service department, I was not a very happy camper. And I went off. I again asked to speak to a supervisor and requested that the address be corrected right then and that I be granted access to internet banking right then. It only took about 10 minutes.

I just thought it unbelievable that something that takes less than 10 min took weeks. I really would have just dropped the internet bank if it wasn't for the fact that the bank charges you 50 cents after 20 phone inquires. I just can't believe how this bank rips you off for every nickle and dime. There is a charge for everything.
