I would give LivingSocial 0 stars if I could. I recently purchased a deal for an apartment cleaning that was a total disaster. The vendor was completely unresponsive when I tried to schedule an appointment. When I complained to LivingSocial, they couldn't do anything about it because it had been longer than 7 days since I made my purchase and that's the only time they can give a refun. They just told me to keep trying to contact the vendor.
Finally, after several weeks, the vendor replied and arranged an appointment. Then they cancelled on me once and were a total no show the second time. I tried to get a refund from the vendor, but they told me I had to go through LivingSocial. I contacted LivingSocial again and they jerked me around for about 2.5 weeks before telling me there was nothing they could do. This time they told me i had waited too long to try and get a refund, even though I had tried several weeks before that.
Finally I received an email from them saying they were "unable to reach me by phone" when I had no record whatsoever of a missed call during the past 2 weeks.
I will never purchase any deal from LivingSocial again. I encourage others to avoid them as well. If you're looking for online coupons, I would suggest AmazonLocal or Travelzoo. Both have offered full refunds to me in the past when their vendors dropped the ball.
