My 5 yr old golden retriever had a policy with VPI pet insurance since he was 8 weeks old. The rate keeps going up each year... Their web site brags about their high payouts. However in May "Rudy" almost died from a necrotizing pneumonia that required a lung resection to save him... Out of the $8500 we paid out of pocket VPI paid us $1700 back..
