Complaint / review text:
Because we did not heed the warnings of the previous posts against Gail Murphy Transportation we felt it was import to post what our experience was and what a horrible service Gail provides and hope that you will read all of the complaints against her and not ignore the warnings. The stories are TRUE!
First the phone call with Gail, she will tell you everything you want to hear like she stops every night and lets the horses rest, that the horse will be riding in a padded stall with food and water, untied and that she will communicate with you all the way and she will even give you dates for pickup and deliver…LIES, LIES, LIES.
The pick up: She told us she would arrive to pick up our horse on the East Coast on 11/8..she never showed up, we called her to see where she was, no response. Finally got a hold of her and she said she was just LEAVING her house (in Southern California) which was days later. Then she was supposed to pick our horse up on the 13th ….no show. Called her and no response, finally had the facility where she was to pick up the horse call her because she was not returning our calls. She finally showed up on 11/16 in the afternoon. Still no phone call to tell us she had picked our horse up. Days later and we still had not received a phone call or text from her. We finally heard that she had some trailer problems in Texas and had to stay there a few days to get her trailer fixed. Still never called us to tell us that she was laid over in Texas for some additional days. When she finally returned our text messages she said she decided to "go home” for a few days as Thanksgiving was approaching. She didn’t ask permission, she just decided to take our horse to her house for 6 additional days…and of course no communication while she was at her residence except for the Monday she was to leave (November 28th) of which she informed us she thought the weather was bad and would leave Tuesday. Tuesday came and she then said she was having truck problems and didn’t know when she would be leaving. Wednesday she contacted us and said she would contact us between 7 and 8 am on Thursday to let us know a delivery time. When we asked what time she would be leaving so we could calculate when she would be arriving and adjust our work schedule, we again received no response. She texted my husband at 7:30 am on Thursday morning saying she would be at our house in 40 minutes (Dec 1). He rushed and got home in time to retrieve our horse only to see that he had been injured at HER HOUSE in her care. His leg was swollen and he had abrasions all over his back legs, hind quarters and in his groan. HUGE scabs all over. As she was unloading she felt this was the time to explain to us that he got injured at her house on Sunday (Nov 27). She never called us to let us know that the horse we purchased was injured and now that we see the condition of our horse we should have asked for a receipt for the truck repair because now we believe she was just waiting until his wounds had scabbed over and the leg swelling had gone down before transporting him. She had the audacity to complain that she now had a bent panel because of our horse!! I cannot express the frustration we encountered in dealing with this woman and her unprofessionalism. HEED THIS WARNING….DO NOT USE GAIL MURPHY TRANSPORTATION IF YOU WANT YOUR HORSE TO BE DELIVERED UNJURED OR IN A TIMELY MANNER.
FYI: Two weeks later and the horse still has a swollen hock and scrapes are still healing.
