Poor Service - Direct TV

I recently subscribe to Direct TV because Comcast was too pricey. Let me begin by saying I ordered it the end of July because I received my bill from comcast (comass) at $189.00 which only includes cable/internet services. I had a installation date of August 1st between 12-4. The installer calls my house at 3:00 pm saying that he will be there in 20 minutes. Shortly after I receive a voice activated message stating that my installer will be late arriving after 4:30 pm. OK this is fine as long as he shows up I had nothing planned that day we all know the routine these guys are always late. He finally shows up at 5:30 pm we go over what package I ordered then he informs me that he does not have the equipment available. OK am I slow or should he had told me this on the phone when his behind call. OK fine he calls his supervisor to reschedule me for the following weekend August 7 between the hours of 8-12 (ok not going to waste another whole day waiting for installation) August 7th comes I waiting its 11:30 no call no show I decides to call customer service and to my surprise they inform me that I dont have a appointment today and that they can install on Monday (ok now I'm livid) I asked the representative to cancel my service I will just stay with my current cable provider. She immediately transfers me to another representative who said they will call installation and have them call me back within 30 minutes. That they will do a emergency installation that day. 30 minute pass and I'm now fuming so I wait an hour and call to cancel and the representative immedieately tries to remedy the situation by offering me a $75.00 visa gift card now you know that a hard offer to refuse so I agree. The Technician came on August 14th to install the the Direct TV. He was very professional and did a very good installation. (Thanks Steven E). OK this is were it starts getting tricky ok installation done I call the customer service department to ask about the $75.00 gift and they tells me that its not in the system that there was no offer. I spoke with multiple reps some hanging up on me or dropping my call. Now this is where all the professionalism I have go out the window I speak with a manager and she's nice and agrees with me and transfers me to the department that handles this issue. William gets on the phone and he is going back to the beginning of the issue I immediately tell him give me his manager I refuse to go over this story read the damn notes and get your manager. The manager kindly advise me that they could not give me a $75.00 visa gift card but because of all the drama/stress/aggravation they will give me a $75.00 credit on my account. I believe they will remedy some situation if you document your calls. However, comcast will give you nothing, I called them several times before I canceled my service and they told me it was nothing they can do. When I called to canceled they tried everything in their power to keep me besides lower my bill. The hell with Comcast they suck Direct TV is not that much better but the price $80.99 no state taxes no fees for equipment this is great deal for all the channels. Did I tell you that with comcast all I had was HBO & Showtime.

NOTE: All cable providers have their issues but what important is price/customer service/quality.
