Midland Mortgage CO AKA Midfirst Bank
Told I Was Approved, Then Denied Before Home Sale

I fell behind in my mortgage payments. When I contacted Midland Mortgage, they said they needed certain paperwork to assist me. I faxed the documents in 9/02 to the loss leg department. In 10/02 they stated they never received the papers, so I faxed them again, and again in 11/02. In 12/02 I spoke with a gentleman who said he could probably find a program to suit me. I did not hear from him, so two weeks later I got hold of him. He stated he had been out of town and would try to give me an answer soon. In 1/03 nothing had been approved.

I spoke with the foreclosure department and told them that I was being helped. They told me they could help, so I did not have to do anything else but wait to hear from them. My house was scheduled for a sale date of 2-4-03. It was the last week in January when I received a call on 1/31 stating that I was approved and had to come up with $1492 by 2/14/03, and that the attorney fees needed to be paid on 3-15-02. I said OK. The next day I received a letter stating I was not approved for a program and my house would go to sale on 2-4-03. I called Midland and told them I had been approved by their loss leg department. They said that was not true.

They told me I needed to move... I am very concerned. I was behind in my house payments, but my paperwork had been in that department since 9/02. Midland does not realize that I could have saved my home. If they had told me in early January that their program would not fit my needs, I could have filed for chapter 13. I do not understand how a company can operate under these conditions. I spoke with 3 departments after my house was sold. To this day they think Midland was not at fault, because they never promised me a program. All I have to say is they were at fault and I could have saved my home. After the sale of my home, all departments denied what they had told me. One person told me I needed to get over it and go on with my life. I am a single parent with children, and I have no idea how or what to do.

I called Midland and told them I had faith in them. I have been a homeowner since 9-96. I really thought they would take care of me in my time of need. I hope the gentleman I had been dealing with can sleep at night, knowing I depended on him. He promised me he would take care of me and not to worry. I left my life in his hands and I got thrown to the streets...
