Travelodge
Revoke their franchise, please. - hospitality

My friend and I spent the 4th of July weekend at the Travelodge in Mountain Grove, MO . The first thing we noticed wereall the out of order signs posted on the ice machines, two of the three pop machines and the juice machine in the room where they provide guests with a meager continental breakfast. When asked about the ice machines, the manager, in PJ's, bare feet and pillow hair, first gave us a blank stare and then mumbled they would be fixed that day. When we left three days later, only one ice machine was working. Our first morning in the breakfast area there was coffee, but no cups! And no juice as mentioned before. The rooms were relatively clean as far as motel rooms go, but my toilet did not have even enough oomph to get a wad of TP down, and overflowed twice. The heat lamp didn't work either, the bulb was just a light and the timer it was on got stuck at the 5 minute mark. Also, the weatherstripping on the door had disintegrated so badly that light and bugs could make their way quite easily. Now here's the lawsuit that's waiting to happen: the pool deck. It had recently been painted, the 5 gallon bucket was still sitting out for all to see. The paint was an outdoor acrylic latex, dark red, glossy. First, slippery when wet. Second, HOT, HOT, HOT. The surface temperature of the deck was upwards of 130 degrees. The only place one should paint cement is in the garage. Imagine some young child slipping on that deck, getting knocked out and on top of that getting a serious second degree burn.
This used to be a nice motel, but there appears to be very little effort in upkeep and maintenance/repairs.

The most upsetting aspect of our stay would have to be the indifference shown us and the other guests by the management. Never a smile, never a "how are you", "how was your stay", only silence, cold stares, and "that's 175 dollars".

We would never, ever be treated like this in a Chicago hotel or motel.
We will be staying elsewhere on future visits to Mountain Grove, I wouldn't board a dog at this Travelodge.
Corporate, please revoke their franchise, they are giving you a bad name.
