My wife noticed a new charge on our debit card for $12.00 from Reservation Rewards. I found this odd and was unaware of the company. I have never conducted business with them that I new of.
After further investigation, I found out that while purchasing airline tickets from Cheaptickets.com, somehow my information was hijacked and used to create this fraudulent account.
I sent an e-mail to Reservation Rewards, asking how I could have signed up for this without knowing? Their reply was, "You entered your e-mail two times". They also gave me my password. The password they gave me was one that I have never seen before.
When something like this happens, the company in question always makes you feel ignorant. Did I actually sign up for something and I just don't remember? Watch out for the adds that are embedded into the screens that you are using to make online transactions.
